Tom Bugdalle is a research fellow at the Institute for Economic Policy at the University of Leipzig. In addition to his doctoral studies at the University of Leipzig, he is an Adam Smith Fellow at the Mercatus Center at George Mason University. His research focuses on the role of central banks in the emergence of imbalances within monetary unions, particularly in the eurozone. He currently examines the extent to which the monetary policy of the European Central Bank distorts free-market mechanisms in euro member states. His other research interests include the analysis of economic order and political economy to evaluate regulatory and fiscal interventions. Tom Bugdalle holds a Master of Research in Development Economics from Université Paris 1 Panthéon-Sorbonne and a Bachelor of Science in Economics from the University of Leipzig.
