Prof. Dr. Ulrike Ackermann is a political scientist and sociologist. In 2009 she founded the John Stuart Mill Institute for Research on Freedom, of which she remains the head. From 2008-2014 she was a professor in Heidelberg and taught Political Science, with a focus on “Freedom Research and Freedom Theory.” In 2002 she founded and directed the European Forum at the Berlin Brandenburg Academy of Sciences. She has also worked for many years as a freelance author for radio and print.
The Austrian Institute is financed mainly by donations. We do not accept any funding from public or ecclesiastical authorities on principle. We need your help as your generous support helps to make our work possible. It also helps ensure its continuous improvement and expansion.
